“I wanted to speak tonight to thank supporters of Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota (GESMN) and their programs because of the incredible impact it has had on my life,” said Heather, a recent graduate of GESMN’s automotive training, during GESMN’s annual fundraising event, Power of Work.

Nearly 400 guests attended the signature event on Thursday, May 9, at Quincy Hall in Minneapolis. The sold-out gala raised more than $219,000 and unlocked additional match funds from a local family foundation.

The night celebrated the success of the Power of Work Campaign and included a cocktail reception and inspiring program where guests experienced silent and live auctions, live music, a wine pull, and a VR headset demonstration from GESMN’s career training and education program which uses the immersive tools to break down learning barriers with participants that have disabilities.

Danielle, a former participant, joined Heather on the stage, sharing how they moved into successful careers with the help of GESMN’s programs because of their hard work and determination.
